Version 0.3 - Released February 2025:

*The desktop and app versions of this product are in Beta mode. The product is usable and perfect for simple augmented reality applications. Please consider the following bugs and areas for improvement before using this application for any "mission critical" use cases.

Known bugs and considerations:

  • At the moment, the Author tool only works on a Windows device, and the Viewer app on an iOS device. Authoring on a Mac and Viewing from an Android mobile device will be available shortly.

  • The workflow is created once in a forward sequence. For this beta release, there is no way to undo a step, or to go back to a specific step to edit it. Each step is final. This is a basic capability that will be added to the next release.

  • Some colors and textures (material properties) do not show themselves in the editor after importing a Blender file. This is ok as the materials will be visible when viewing the experience from a mobile device.

  • No email or login is required. The data cannot be tied back to you in any way. There is no data collected from users through the app or desktop application. We will only get a total number of downloads from the app store. Make sure to anonymize any data you upload for maximum security. For example, exclude company names, patient names if used for a medical application, and any other file name that can be used to determine someone's identity. All data is automatically deleted after 4 months.

  • The Authoring tool offers very basic editing options. Moving, scaling, and rotating cannot be done numerically at the moment. It is all done through dragging.

  • Only one model can be uploaded at a time. Make sure all objects that are part of the experience you are creating are added to your Blender project and exported as one OBJ file. You can hide objects in your Authoring process and bring them back when you need them at the right step of the sequence.

  • There is no way to retrieve the 6-digit code generated after it has been generated. Make sure to write it down. In the future, it will be emailed to you.

  • There is no loading bar. Heavy models can take up to two minutes to upload or download.

  • Some possible errors are not handled programmatically yet: wrong 6-digit code error leaves the screen loading, there isn't a "no internet" error, heavy models can crash the app in older devices.

Other future enhancements:

  • Account based experiences: Have all of your experiences under one account, making it easy to retrieve and edit them.

  • 2-way communication: Enabling the app user to draw, take notes, and have some editing functions to add to the experience.

  • AI agents are in pre-release stage: These will help automate many parts of the creation process, including automatic creation of steps from an existing product manual.

  • Voice notes during Authoring and Viewing

  • Multiplayer: Enabling multiple users to see the same experience at the same time from distributed locations while on a voice call. Nothing beats live collaboration.

  • Browser based editing is being explored to avoid having to download a .exe file and having to receive admin permission (if you are with a company device).

  • Have any ideas? Let us know.
